Dr. Faizan Ali

Growing up, Dr. Ali would go to the hospital where his father worked as a surgeon. He got to know the dentist who worked there, and that sparked his interest in the field of dentistry! Once he saw that this career path would combine the best of medicine, engineering, and helping others, he knew exactly what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Today, he has more than 15 years of experience as a dentist, and he’s still just as confident in that decision.

When it came time for his studies, Dr. Ali chose to attend BVP Dental College and Hospital in India. Then, he moved to sunny San Diego to obtain his Master’s in Public Health. While completing his studies at San Diego State University, he was admitted into the Advanced Dental Studies Program for International Dental Graduates at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. In addition to graduating with his dental doctorate, he was awarded the Dr. F. Gene and Rosemary Dixon Scholarship Award due to his exceptional academic achievement and leadership! To this day, he pursues continuing education and advanced training to keep his skills sharp.

On the evenings and weekends, Dr. Ali loves spending time with his wife (who he met in dental school) and their two sons, Zayaan and Shazane. He also enjoys weightlifting, playing cricket, watching movies, and playing video games!

Dr. Naira T. Kraipak

Dr. Kraipak (also known as “Dr. K”) loved visiting her dentist growing up. She also was passionate about art at a young age, which made a career in the dental field a perfect fit! She’s been a dentist for more than 15 years now, and she is as passionate as ever about helping patients ease their anxieties and providing them with the same amazing experience she had growing up. In fact, one of her favorite parts of her job is making those in her treatment chair feel listened to and safe so they can enjoy a healthy, functional, and gorgeous smile.

Like Dr. Ali, Dr. K earned her dental doctorate at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She graduated with TKO (Tau Kappa Omega Honor Society) honors, which is just one of her many impressive accomplishments. Over the years, she has completed advanced training on a wide range of treatments, including Invisalign® Clear Braces and Fastbraces®.

With two energetic kids at home, Dr. K’s life outside the office is busy as well! When she has time, she loves traveling, listening to music, going on long walks, and dancing.

I just moved into the area and was looking for a new Dentist. Plush Dentistry was highly recommended to me, and so I decided to give them a try. I must say all the staff were very nice, and the office is very clean. I received a comprehensive exam, which was the MOST thorough exam I have ever received from a Dental office. Dr K was amazing! She was patient, compassionate, and explained all my X-rays and treatment options in a very caring way. I highly recommend Plush Dentistry as I know you will love them as much as I have!

Where is the best place to receive high-quality dental care?

Only you know what you want from a dentist, so to determine where you want to receive the best quality dental care, you’ll first need to establish criteria. This will allow you to narrow down the practices that seem like the best fit.

You might consider the following when choosing a dentist’s office:

  • Do they offer comprehensive dental care?
  • Do they treat children and adults?
  • Are they near your work or home?
  • Do they accept your dental insurance?
  • Do they offer specialized dental care, such as orthodontics, TMJ treatment, etc.?

What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?

You may be tempted to avoid visiting the dentist’s office if you feel that you cannot afford it; however, doing so will only lead to serious oral health problems and complications. Instead, you’ll find that many dental offices (including Plush Dentistry) offer flexible financing and even in-house membership plans. Enrolling in a financing plan through a third-party company allows you to pay back your total bill over time instead of all upfront. Their low- and no-interest payment plans also make it easy to stay within budget.

With an in-house membership program, you can pay a single membership fee and receive access to preventive services and discounts on all other available care.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

Not having dental insurance can cause oral healthcare costs to pile up. A simple tooth extraction can run between $150-$400 depending on a few different factors, such as the location and type of tooth, how you plan to replace it, and whether you require dental sedation. You’ll also need to determine if you need additional treatment for any reason (i.e., gum disease treatment, bone grafting, etc.).

However, just because you don’t have dental insurance doesn’t mean you can’t still move forward with tooth extraction. You can always opt for flexible financing or an in-house membership plan to help lower your out-of-pocket expenses.

How can I get emergency dental care?

You’ll first want to call your dentist to explain the situation. A member of the team will work quickly to schedule a same-day or next-day appointment depending on the severity of your case. Once you arrive, though, you can expect your dentist to take the necessary images and perform a visual exam to identify the damaged area. Once they compile their findings, they will draft a treatment plan that you will review and approve. From there, you can expect your pained and broken smile to be made new.
